The Senior Account Manager is responsible for driving profitable growth of company’s polyolefin portfolio, with a main focus on Ethylene Acrylic Acid (EAA) and Ionomer business in Europe. This role combines strategic account management with business development, ensuring that current customer relationships are strengthened while new opportunities are captured. The Senior Account Manager actively promotes and sells SKGC’s solutions by identifying customer’s unmet needs, creating value, and representing the customer voice within the organization.
Description of duties and responsibilities:
Account Management & Business Growth
· Manage and grow key accounts across Europe, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and long-term partnerships.
· Develop and execute annual account plans aligned with business strategy and value-creation goals.
· Identify, qualify, and secure new business opportunities in flexible packaging and value-added rigid packaging markets.
· Produce annual sales plans by product range (volume and margin) and ensure delivery against objectives.
· Continuously update sales forecasts to maximize accuracy, anticipating and adjusting for market changes.
Customer Relationship & Market Intelligence
· Build strong, trust-based relationships with customers, distributors, and industry influencers.
· Understand and proactively analyze customers’ business, needs, and applications to deliver tailored solutions.
· Recognize and resolve customer challenges, turning them into growth opportunities.
· Share market and industry intelligence (competition, trends, customer insights) across SKGC to support business decisions.
Strategic Contribution
· Represent the customer in internal discussions, helping shape business strategies, product positioning, and marketing plans.
· Collaborate with internal stakeholders (Marketing, R&D, Technical Service, Customer Service, Supply Chain) to deliver value-added solutions.
· Contribute to team development through knowledge transfer, mentoring and support for the training of new members.
· Contribute to business reviews and provide input to strategic planning processes.
Operational Excellence & Compliance
· Execute tactical and operational plans as defined by management.
· Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
· Adhere to SHE (Safety, Health, and Environment) standards, reporting any incidents or improvement suggestions.
· Provide support during organizational backups when needed
Education and Experience Requirements:
· University degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Marketing, Business Administration, or related fields.
· Minimum 8 years of experience in the chemical industry. Plastics/packaging is preferred, ideally within Specialty Polyolefins (EAA, Ionomers, or related applications).
· At least 5 years of experience as an Account Manager handling large and complex accounts.
· Proven track record in Flexible Packaging; experience with Value-Added Rigid Packaging is a strong plus.
· Fluent in English and Spanish; other European languages are highly valued.
· Demonstrated experience in European markets, with ability to travel extensively (approx. 50-60%).

· Strong business acumen in Polyolefins (EAA & Ionomers), with knowledge of packaging market dynamics in Europe.
· Excellent communicator with strong interpersonal skills to engage stakeholders at multiple levels.
